John has been based in Hong Kong for over 25 years. He has a Bachelor of Building (BSc); is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB), Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (FHKIE).

Murphy is responsible for sourcing and underwriting real estate investment opportunities in HK and UK, and he brings in more than 10 years’ experience in asset appraisal, real estate investment and investment management across Hong Kong, Macau, United Kingdom and other Asian cities. Prior to Hathway, Murphy had managed a HK$4 billion property portfolio for a local family office and Grade-A offices for Swire Properties. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) with a Master of Science in Real Estate (Real Estate Finance and Investment) from University of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering (Co-op) from University of Waterloo.
